Steven Lelli’s Inn On The Green: Reviews & Ratings
This was my first time visiting Steven Lelli’s on the green. We were invited to an anniversary dinner on February 6, 2026. We were a party of ten and I must say an amazing time and experience was had. The waitress was excellent, and very helpful explaining the menu. The food was delicious and prepared to perfection. Everyone ordered something different and they all loved their food. My husband and I had, steak bites and potatoes, scallops, and ribs. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The drinks were awesome, the deserts were awesome and the entire staff was very accommodating. I cannot say enough about this place. We will be back.
It had been a few years since our last dinner at Steven Lelli’s, and once again, the experience did not disappoint. This visit was extra special, as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Arriving late on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant wasn’t crowded, which gave us the luxury of choosing our preferred seating. We started with the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail—four large, perfectly fresh shrimp with a sweet cocktail sauce. The seafood was excellent and left me eager to try the Famous Checker Barbecue Ribs on our next visit. For our entrées, we ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and the Steakhouse Gnocchi. On the side, we added the Spaghetti Bolognese and a Caesar Salad. The Fettuccine Alfredo was outstanding—the kind of pasta that hooks you from the very first bite. The Steakhouse Gnocchi was equally impressive, with steak that was tender, juicy, and paired beautifully with broccolini, mushrooms, and a rich demi-glace. Portions were generous, easily enough for two, so we took the rest home to enjoy later. The Spaghetti Bolognese had good flavor, though it was softer than our preference—we’ll be sure to request firmer pasta next time. The Caesar Salad was decent, but I’d recommend asking for the dressing on the side. One tip: don’t overlook the back of the menu—it’s full of tempting dishes you might miss if you only focus on the front. The atmosphere inside was calm, relaxing, and pleasantly quiet. While the waitstaff seemed a bit stretched, our server managed well overall. Service wasn’t flawless, but there was nothing to complain about. All in all, we had a wonderful evening and are already looking forward to our next visit to Steven Lelli’s.
We had such a blast. From the front door to the time we departed nothing was lacking. Our host got our vibe right immediately with Strawberry Lemon Drops and the Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini was so good like dessert in a glass. Food was so good from the tenderest cuts of beef on pillowy gnocchi to sumptuous lobster tails. Delicious appetizers if you leave hungry it's your own fault. Definitely one of those special celebration locations and prices reflect that. Would go back again and again! Put it on your bucket list.
Pros: The setting is absolutely stunning. The spicy Cauliflower was my absolute favorite! Con: I didn’t particularly care about the method of billing as a large group. It was our monthly “Ladies fine dining night”. It was 6 of us, the check couldn’t be separated although it was multiple payments methods accepted. I also didn’t like we had to ask for bread verses it being offered. Overall great experience. Perfect date night place, or couples dining
I will say overall I really enjoyed this restaurant. We had a reservation and was sat immediately. They even were okay with us sitting at a larger booth because we like to sample an assortment of foods. Our waiter was the only negative in our experience. He did not seem too enthused with us, I don't know if this is his normal disposition or if he had an off night. The foods we tried were delicious including the bread! The ribeye was slightly too fatty but was prepared just the way I like it, medium rare. The Alfredo was unique, very garlic forward which I enjoyed. I believe it was the owner or maybe the manager who came to our table as well, he was very warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend everyone try this place out!
Classic, iconic, old skool Detroit vibes. Recommend reservation, although I did not have one; And was accommodated with a smile and short (20 min wait). Atmosphere is quite nice and what you'd expect from older, higher-end establishments. Both, large and small, high-backed crescent shaped booths provided intimate, cozy vibes for date night or a group of close friends. There are options for private rooms. Business dinners, birthdays, engagements, and such would fit perfectly here. Food is upscale. Was disappointed in my salad. But, alas, its just salad and by no means was reflective of my appetizer or dinner entree. Drinks to the table were quite delayed. It was noticeable that on a Saturday night, and quite busy with larger parties, that there was no dedicated bartender. Odd because people were sitting at the bar waiting for their tables and im not sure they were receiving too good of service, as we at the table were clearly suffering as well. Overall it was a great experience
Best filet ever! My original experience was at the downtown location when I was a teenager. The recipes have not changed and they never needed to. They were perfect from the beginning! The minestrone soup and the Bolognese sauce are to die for. And while you might find zip sauce on menus at other restaurants, no one does zip sauce like Lellis probably because they are the originators and inventors of this delightful steak sauce.
This has become our go-to Italian restaurant. We love how accommodating everyone is, and the Red Room gives such a nice, intimate vibe. The booths are roomy and comfortable, the food never disappoints, and the bread is absolutely incredible. The waitstaff works so hard and makes every visit special. We can’t recommend it enough!
